The Chlorine Chemistry Foundation currently supports the following programs:

• Save the Children's efforts to provide safe drinking water in Ethiopian schools
• The World Health Organization's Household Water Treatment Network, promoting simple, low cost technologies to provide safe water at the point of use.
• The West Africa Water Initiative, a multi-partner alliance addressing water challenges in Ghana, Mali and Niger.
• The Clean Water Initiative for Central America, providing chlorination equipment and training for small communities.

Meeting the Global Water Challenge

Access to safe water is essential for life itself. Sadly, more than 1.1 billion people (one sixth of the world's population) rely on unsafe water from rivers, lakes and open wells to meet their daily household needs. Every year, infectious diarrhea spread by contaminated water kills more than two million people, mostly children under five years old.
